“W...Dreams” by Jermann represents one of the iconic labels of this famous Friulian winery, which has been one of the protagonists in the international success of the great white wines of Collio. It is a pure Chardonnay of remarkable richness and expressive maturity, made in the Burgundy style, which combines the classic floral and fruity notes of the variety with sensations of vanilla and tertiary aromas, typical of aging in wood. Its original name comes from a long journey, inspired by the song “Where the Streets Have No Name” from the U2 album “The Joshua Tree.” The first vintage featured the label “Where the Dreams have no end...” then “Were Dreams, now it is just wine!” before arriving at the current name in 2003. The wine “W...Dreams” by Jermann is born in one of the most important estates of the Collio Goriziano. The Jermann family has been cultivating vineyards since the late 1800s and produces wines that interpret the territory with a modern style open to experimentation. The wine originates from the Ruttars estate, located near Dolegna del Collio, which covers about twenty hectares. It is one of the most suitable areas in the region for its temperate climate and significant temperature fluctuations. Sunny days and gentle breezes from the Adriatic alternate with fresh air currents from the Julian Prealps, refreshing the nights. The soils are made up of a sedimentation of sandstone and limestone marls, originating in a marine environment. They are poor, stony soils, not very fertile, forcing the vine to dig deep with its roots in search of water and nutrients. The best Chardonnay clusters, selected in the vineyard, are gently pressed. After fermentation, the wine ages for about a year in small 300-liter French oak barrels. The “W...Dreams” white wine by Jermann is a high-level Chardonnay, confirming how the Burgundy variety has adapted well to the Collio terroir, producing great wines.
