Riesling Ried Reisberg 2019 Zahel

This wine comes from the single vineyard Ried Reisberg in southern Vienna. The nearly 40-year-old vines grow on a dry, dolomitic limestone soil rich in magnesium and with a high content of active lime. It undergoes spontaneous fermentation and is aged in stainless steel tanks. This Riesling showcases a fascinating and very personal style. It presents aromas of honey, peach, beeswax, and spices with hints of minerality. On the palate, it is rich and structured, with a significant fruit return, yet it maintains a sharp, saline lift that makes it an exceptionally smooth and savory wine. We suggest a game: uncork the bottle and try not to finish it before the appetizers are served.
