Pinot Bianco Santarosa 2022 DOC Castello di Spessa

The Pinot Bianco Collio ‘Santarosa’ from Castello di Spessa is a highly typical Friulian white wine made from an international grape variety that now calls this land 'home.' After a brief passage in steel and barrique, the wine retains its aromatic qualities while gaining a rounder character, fully harmonized with intense aromas of tropical fruits, white flowers, and toasty hints reminiscent of freshly baked bread. The taste is smooth, warm, and has great persistence.

Pinot Bianco Santarosa 2022 DOC Castello di Spessa

The Pinot Bianco Collio ‘Santarosa’ from Castello di Spessa is a pure expression of Pinot Bianco from vines planted in 2000 on soils composed of the characteristic ponca, a type of soil made up of an alternating layers of marl and sandstone. At the beginning of September, the grape clusters are harvested, then gently pressed before the alcoholic fermentation of the must takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. After fermentation, the wine is aged on fine lees, partly in French oak barrels and partly in stainless steel, until the spring following the harvest, when the blending and final bottling process takes place.

Color

Straw yellow with golden highlights.

Taste

Refined with notes of yeast, pear, and acacia flowers, smooth and velvety, with excellent persistence.

Aroma

Wide and intense with tropical notes and hints of bread crust.
