Nebbiolo Langhe 2022 DOC Giovanni Rosso

The Langhe Nebbiolo DOC, produced for the first time in 2010, is one of the most celebrated wines from the Giovanni Rosso winery. The winery is located in the territory of Serralunga d'Alba, a small and picturesque municipality in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. This dry red wine, with a velvety and aromatic body, is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes using a vine training system known as Guyot. Giovanni Rosso produces about 40,000 bottles of this wine each year. Harvesting is strictly manual and takes place around mid-October. The fermentation of the grape skins and must occurs over a couple of weeks in cement containers, with frequent pump-overs; the délestage technique is also employed with a maceration on the lees. Aging lasts several months in French oak barrels from the Fontainebleau forest, each holding 25 hectoliters. The Langhe Nebbiolo DOC can be enjoyed both young and over the next 10 years.
