Nebbiolo DWNL 2022 Salvano

The "dwnl" Nebbiolo by Alessandro Salvano features spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, with 80% whole clusters used during vinification and maturation in stainless steel; production is limited to 4,000 bottles. This wine balances acidity and tannins beautifully, revealing aromas of ripe dark fruit, flowers, and herbs, along with hints of underbrush. It possesses a substantial volume that finds its lift in freshness. The dwnl® project, which stands for Drink Wines, Not Labels, was established in 2019 in Montelupo Albese, right in the heart of the Langhe, just 50 meters beyond the boundaries of the Barolo designation. The initiative stems from Alessandro Salvano's reflection: “In these years, I have often wondered if it still makes sense to imagine such defined boundaries for these territories, whether the geographical lines drawn over 40 years ago truly determine the quality of a product in the contemporary context.”
