Etna bianco occhi di Ciumi 2022 DOC Al-Cantara

From the fortunate insight that a good wine is “poetry” and requires “art” to create, Al-Cantàra was founded in 2005. The company quickly established itself both nationally and internationally, thanks to the exceptional quality of its wines, recognized by various prestigious awards and, most recently, the outstanding results achieved at Vinitaly, where with eight wines featured in 5 StarWines – The Book, Al-Cantàra was crowned “Winery of the Year – Gran Vinitaly 2023”. A sophisticated and modern packaging is another distinctive feature of Al-Cantàra's products, with their unmistakable labels enriched by evocative representations by young Sicilian artists, including the recent Annachiara Di Pietro, who celebrate the traditions, culture, and landscape of Mount Etna. The winery takes its name from the river that flows along the slopes of Mount Etna, skirting the Feudo S. Anastasia district in Randazzo, where its vineyards and cellars are located. The name “Al-Cantàra”, meaning “bridge” in Arabic, highlights the connection to Sicilian land and symbolizes the harmonious and innovative combination of wine, art, and poetry that defines the company’s hallmark. It’s no coincidence that the names of the wines are inspired by poems by Sicilian authors such as Nino Martoglio, Luigi Pirandello, Micio Tempio, Giovanni Meli, Alfio Antico, Salvatore Di Pietro, Francesco Guglielmino, Ercole Patti, Antonio Veneziano, and Giovanni Verga. The winery currently covers approximately 20 hectares.
