Barolo 2020 DOCG Prunotto

The Barolo from the Prunotto winery is a muscular Piedmontese red that immediately announces itself as rich in aromas and expansive sensations. The Nebbiolo grape, used in purity to create this important Italian denomination, expresses typical floral and fruity notes, which will evolve with character and personality in the coming years. Indeed, one of the many virtues of this label is that it can be stored in the cellar for decades to come, where it will develop into a more complex version. This Barolo by Prunotto is made from the native red grape Nebbiolo, which reaches memorable quality peaks within the Langhe region of Piedmont. The grapes are cultivated in the Monforte, Castiglione Falletto, and Serralunga areas, in vineyards characterized by a subsoil made of Sant'Agata marls. Once the grapes arrive at the winery, they are destemmed and then fermented in steel containers, macerating for 10 days at a maximum temperature of 30°C, during which malolactic fermentation also takes place. The aging process then begins, first in large oak barrels for 24 months, followed by an additional 12 months in glass bottles after bottling.
