Barbera La Bogliona 2009 Scarpa

The Barbera Bogliona is the calling card of the Scarpa winery, internationally renowned for its ability to maintain its characteristics for 10, 20, and even more years. The vineyards are located in the Bogliona area, from which the wine takes its name. The soil here is rich in sand and magnesium, lending the wine extraordinary elegance without sacrificing structure. Before being bottled, it undergoes aging in large oak barrels for 18 to 36 months, followed by a two-year aging in a customized Burgundy-style bottle. The wine is bold, sometimes a bit austere, but also sensual, with a long and soft finish. Production Notes: Fermentation in steel.
