Barbera d'Alba Trevigne 2021 DOC Clerico

The Barbera d'Alba "Trevigne" is a Piedmontese fruity and fresh wine that is always a pleasure to uncork. It is a typical regional red, the result of the beautiful relationship between grape variety and terroir, a relationship further enhanced by the prestige of the plots where Domenico Clerico cultivates the Barbera grapes used for this label, two of the cru from which he also produces some of his Barolo. Among its many qualities, this bottle also has the advantage of being able to withstand further aging in the bottle. This Barbera d'Alba "Trevigne" comes from vines around 25 years old, cultivated within two renowned Barolo cru, Ginestra and San Pietro. The yield per hectare is purposely kept low by the Domenico Clerico winery, never exceeding 45 hectoliters per hectare. The carefully selected grapes are destemmed, and the berries are pressed. The must ferments while macerating on the skins for about 10-14 days in stainless steel containers. It is then aged for 16 months in both French oak barriques and large casks.
