Barbera D'Alba DOC 2016 Maria Gioana Fratelli Giacosa Magnum

A portion of the best Barbera grapes from our vineyards in Canavere, Madonna Como, and Bordini is vinified separately and aged in small French oak barrels. The wine then spends long months in the bottle, where it completes, harmonizes, and enhances its remarkable characteristics. It shows excellent potential for long bottle aging. Its name comes from an old Piedmontese folk song about a woman, Maria Gioana, who enjoys drinking wine, and all her ailments are cured in this way without the need for a doctor’s visit.
