Barbaresco Martinenga 2020 DOCG Marchesi di Gresì

The Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy winery, commonly known as Marchesi di Grésy, is renowned for its location to the east of Alba, in the north-western Piedmont region, and for its production of fine wines, particularly Barbaresco DOCG. Founded in 1797, the Grésy family has managed the estate for generations, beginning winemaking production in 1973. The main winery is located in Martinenga, at the heart of the Barbaresco wine region. The Martinenga vineyard spans 24 hectares (approximately 59 acres) and produces three different Barbaresco labels, each sourced from specific parts of the vineyard: Martinenga, Camp Gros Martinenga, and Gaiun Martinenga. Nebbiolo occupies about half of the vineyard, with the remainder planted with varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Barbera, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This Barbaresco is aged for 10 months in barriques, 12 months in large Slavonian oak casks, and 12 months in bottle.
