The Rongalio Riserva is the flagship wine of the Abrigo winery, produced only in the best vintages from a careful selection of the oldest vines in the Meruzzano vineyard, which boasts the best exposure, soil, and microclimate. As a highlight of Barbaresco production, it showcases its territorial typicity, making it instantly recognizable and has received acclaim and awards from international wine critics. In 1988, Giovanni Abrigo, a great enthusiast of French viticulture, completed his enology studies and began collaborating with his father Orlando in the family business. An ambitious producer and skilled winemaker, Giovanni has made significant changes and technical improvements in the winery over nearly thirty years. Alongside traditional winemaking methods, he has introduced new automated technologies to optimize various stages of the production process. Today, the winery in Treiso, with its 20 hectares in the province of Cuneo, produces some of the most important and well-known Piedmontese wines in the world.

Color

The wine has a ruby color tending towards garnet

Taste

It is refined, warm, and structured, with evolved tannins. The finish recalls ripe fruit and has a long persistence.

Aroma

Evolved and complex, it features notes of forest fruit, cherry, and sour cherry in jelly, along with sweet spice notes such as vanilla and licorice, and nutmeg; it concludes with balsamic undertones.
