Barbaresco 2021 Gaja

The Barbaresco by Gaja is a wine with immense richness and expressiveness, produced by a legendary winery in the Langhe. Angelo Gaja is one of those names that excite any wine enthusiast, as his interpretations have led to the creation of immortal bottles that, even 50 years after the harvest, remain perfectly intact and ready to enjoy. A quality revolution, almost pioneering, given that in the 1960s the idea of reducing yields per hectare to prioritize quality viticulture was far from obvious. This choice has undoubtedly proven right for Angelo, considering the incredible and growing success of his wines, which are now highly sought after worldwide. These prestigious bottles deserve a place of honor in any cellar, to be opened at the right moment to fully appreciate their remarkable complexity! The red Barbaresco is made from pure Nebbiolo grapes, cultivated in the well-known Piedmontese municipality that lends its name to the denomination. The bunches, selected with almost obsessive care, come from 14 owned vineyards situated at altitudes ranging from 250 to 330 meters above sea level, while the extremely low yields, typical of Gaja, hover around 40 hectoliters per hectare. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers, and the aging involves 6 months in barrique and an additional 18 months in large oak barrels. Its longevity is incalculable!
