Barbera La Bogliona 2018 Magnum Scarpa

BOGLIONA MAGNUM WOODEN BOX The Barbera d’Asti La Bogliona from the Scarpa winery is a full-bodied red wine made from Barbera grapes grown in the “i Bricchi” estate, located on the border between Castel Rocchero and Acqui Terme. Thanks to a long aging process of 32 months in French oak barrels, 6 months in stainless steel tanks, and 4 months in the bottle, Barbera d’Asti La Bogliona has excellent aging potential. In appearance, it impresses with its beautiful intense ruby color, with purple reflections. On the nose, it develops a deep and intense bouquet, mineral, with evident hints of red fruit and plum. On the palate, it is vigorous, well-structured, characterized by a long and persistent finish. Scarpa's Barbera d’Asti La Bogliona is excellent to drink alongside veal roasts, medium-aged cheeses, agnolotti, or veal tongue carpaccio with green sauce. The Antica Casa Vinicola Scarpa winery, or simply Scarpa, is a historic winery in the Asti region, founded in the late 1800s in Nizza Monferrato. The turning point came in the early years after World War II when the young owner Mario Pesce began to take direct control of the business. Soon, Scarpa became a reference point for many red wines from Piedmont, particularly for Barbera. Scarpa's vineyards are located on slopes between 330 and 440 meters above sea level in particularly sunny positions, benefiting from very cool nighttime temperatures that preserve the natural acidity of the grapes. Recently, the company has acquired land in the Langhe region, on the hills of Verduno, La Morra, and Neive, thus expanding its production with Barolo and Barbaresco wines. One of the core principles of the company is to pay maximum care and attention throughout the entire wine production process, from vineyard work to the final stages in the cellar. Scarpa continues to innovate while firmly holding onto its roots in tradition. The company is committed to sustainability and promoting the Piedmontese territory, ensuring that every bottle tells the story of its land and the passion dedicated to it.
